GETTING STARTED

I am new to yoga, which practice do I start with?

You can start with any practice as your first, all practices are designed in such a way that they require no prior experience of yoga.

I am not flexible, will I be able to do yoga?

Yes, irrespective of your body shape, weight, size and flexibility you can do yoga. Our teachers are trained to guide you with modifications and will assist you to gradually come into the right posture, without forcing the body beyond a point of comfort.

In which order do I learn Hatha yoga practices? 

Each practitioners journey will be unique and individual. You can start with any practice and then based on your needs, add the next practice when you are ready to explore further. While you can learn in any order, after learning, you must practice it in the order suggested by your teacher.

Are these practices the same as taught at Isha Foundation?

All practices offered at Yoga Netri are taught exactly as per the guidelines of Isha Hatha Yoga School by certified teachers.

How do I choose the right practice for me? 

While you can start with any practice as your first, each practice has certain physical, mental or spiritual benefit. Surya Shakti and Angamardana are physically oriented, Surya Kriya offers a certain mental stability and Yogasanas and Bhuta Shuddhi have spiritual significance. PRACTICE RELATED QUESTIONS

What is the best time to do yoga?

If you are looking for physical health, then the sandhya kala (20 min before and after sunrise and sunset) is the best time to do practices.

But if you want to transcend your physical nature or know dimensions that we refer to as spiritual, the best time for you to do practices is 3:40am also known as the Brahmamurtam

What is an empty stomach condition?

To practice Hatha Yoga, adults must maintain a gap of 4 hours after a full meal, 2.5 hours after a small snack and 1.5 hours after any beverage (except water).

Children under the age of 14 practicing Hatha yoga need a minimum gap of 2.5 hours after a full Meal, 1.5 hours after a small snack and 1 hour after a beverage.

I have recently had a surgery, when can I start yoga?

Since surgeries and individuals may vary in severity and healing time, ensure to consult doctor before starting the practice.

For any major open surgery, must wait at least 6 months to do any practice. Laproscopic surgery, if no complications, they can practice after 6 weeks.

In the interim period you can learn Nadi Shuddhi, Mantra Yoga, Nada Yoga, Meditation and Bhuta Shuddhi & Isha Kriya. under a teachers guidance while you recover. Please inform our teacher prior to registration regarding any specific health concern that may need attention.

Can women practice Yoga during their periods? 

All practices can be done during menstruation except Sarvanaga asana (taught as a part of Yogasanas). Many women have experienced a reduction in cramps and irregularities in their menstrual cycles with regular practice of yoga.

PAYMENT AND REFUNDS

I have paid for the workshop, but am not able to attend it. What is your refund policy?

If you have registered and are unable to attend the workshop, you can request for a 100% refund upto 24 hours prior to the workshop. If the cancellation is done within 24 hours, you are eligible to get 80% of the paid amount.  

I have registered for a current workshop but would like to attend another one in the future ?

Your registration can be moved to another batch through a confirmation via email with the teacher. While the paid amount can be carried forward, any difference in pricing for the next workshop must be paid by you.

I have paid for the workshop, but have not received any email.  

You should get an email 24 hours prior to the workshop with details of the venue (or link of the class) and guidelines for the session. Incase it is not in your junk folder, please contact us at abhaya@yoganetri.com for further guidance.

When can I expect my refund?

If your refund has been initiated, it should reach your account within 8-10 working days.
